Wayne L. Schneckenberger of Elma, a
retired, self-employed building contractor, died Thursday in Mercy Hospital.
He was 80.
Born in Buffalo, he was a graduate of
East Aurora High School. He was self-employed as a building contractor for
L. J. Schneckenberger and Son from 1951 until his retirement in 1993.
Mr. Schneckenberger was a past
president of the Niagara Frontier Horsemen’s Association, a lifetime member
and past president of the Western New York Quarter Horse Club and a past
president of the Erie County Fair Horse Show. He was a 4-H leader for more
than 20 years and, as a breeder of golden retriever dogs, he was a member of
the Golden Retriever Club of Western New York.
Mr. Schneckenberger was a member of
Elma United Methodist Church, 2991 Bowen Road, Elma.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years,
the former Arlene R. Thering; two daughters, Lynda Bessey and Lorna
McCormick; three sons, Lawrence, Lance and Lee; and a sister, Kay Hughes.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.
m. Sunday in Elma United Methodist Church.

Condolences to Alecia Oberholtzer and her
family on the loss of The Tardee Tradition. Tardee was Euthanized on
12/13/2011 due to a long fight with Laminitis.
Tardee had multiple
World Titles including AQHA WC, PHBA WC, and Congress Champion. He was
owned by Alecia Oberholtzer. Tardee has left 1 fantastic Palomino Colt,
who Alecia hopes will follow in his father's steps in and out of the
ring. His last 2 babies are due in 2012. Tardee has sired 45 foals who
have earned over 133 points with some of them are still showing.
Tardee will be
greatly missed, he was one of those studs, that was a pleasure to handle
and be around.

The Scholarship
committee is proud to announce the award of $1,000 to Makaia Papasergi.
Makaia's education plan is to earn her PhD in biochemistry, enabling her to
conduct research methods to treat, and hopefully cure neurological diseases such
as Parkinson and Alzheimer. Her sincere compassion to help people as well
as her determination will serve her will in her endeavors.
