Formed on February 14, 1957, the Western New York Quarter Horse Club, Inc. is the oldest Quarter Horse Club in the State of New York. When it was formed in Elma, New York in 1957, the American Quarter Horse Association was very young, having just been formed in Fort Worth, Texas in 1940 and Quarter Horse activities were just being organized across the country. Over the course of 52 years, the venerable club has endured, pursuing its goal of promoting Quarter Horses by sponsoring meetings, parties, seminars, clinics, horse shows, race meets and other opportunities to show off the extensive talents of the American Quarter Horse.
MISSION “The general purpose of the Western New York Quarter Horse Club shall be to encourage the ownership of AQHA registered horses and to enlighten the public as to its general purpose, to promote more and better breeding, and secure as many possibilities for the exhibiting of the Quarter Horse in compliance with the American Quarter Horse Association rules.”
